The following is a press release about the exhibition:

Singapore, March 21, 2013 - Set in Stone Gallery presents Asia's premier fossil exhibition, offering specially selected fossil pieces for interior design and personal collections.

Founded by German-born Cliff Hartono, Set in Stone Gallery is bringing in a world-class collection of rare and visually stunning fossil pieces. What was previously in the realm of museums and universities will now be attainable by those looking to add distinctive pieces to their collections and displays.

Fine fossils as a collection category occupy a unique niche somewhere in between antiques and art. Like antiques, fossils are old - millions of years in fact. The right conditions, nature, passing of time, and the element of chance are all crucial in the formation of fossils. Combined with the difficulty of finding and excavating ones that have preserved beautifully, this makes the fossils featured by Set in Stone true natural treasures.

Set in Stone Gallery's first exhibition presents a selection of fossils from North America and Europe, amongst which are iridescent ammonites, fish murals, and fossil slabs. One of the highlights of this exhibition is a remarkable palm leaf measuring 2 by 1 meters that was preserved in the sediments of an ancient lake. Palm leaves are extremely rare finds, as most plants do not fossilize due to their delicate composition. Cliff was particularly fascinated by this piece and based the gallery's logo on it.

Two other striking pieces in the selection are the ichthyosaur and sea lily from Germany, both over 180 million years old, dating back to the Jurassic period. Specimens like these are scarcely available for purchase in the market as museums frequently outbid each other to secure one for their collection.

Cliff is convinced that it is the combination of the scientific and aesthetic qualities that will fascinate visitors of the exhibition. He says, "I believe that each of the fossils is a piece of beauty that is frozen in time, and gives us a glimpse into a lost world".
