Singapore - The Emirates Singapore Derby looks set to return to the race course for another exciting year with a $1.15 million prize money and a twist to the highly anticipated fashion contest this Sunday.
Into its 18th edition, the Derby is the second richest race in Singapore and and forms the final and longest leg of the Singapore Four-Year-Old Challenge.
The race at Kranji sees Singapore's high society putting on their most glamorous dresses and suits for the iconic horse racing event and the ever-popular fashion contest.
The most stylish guest gets to win the coveted "Best Dressed to the Races" title by votes from the guests this year.
For the first time, guests will be able have a say on the winner and fly them to Melbourne for a free trip on Emirates' Business Class seats.
Emirates Manager of Singapore and Brunei Mr Nick Rees said the Derby is 'a perfect blend of sports and fashion', and gives them a chance to connect with their customers and fans. It is also a platform for them to give back to the community.
This year, there will be fundraising activities such as pre-sale of donation tables for the HCA Hospice Home Care Service, MINDS Woodlands Employment Development Centre, Rainbow Centre EIPIC @ Margaret Drive, and the AWWA School.
Emirates raised $100,000 for four Voluntary Welfare Organisations under the Community Chest of Singapore at last year's fundraising drive.
