IWA's fashion affair
by , tabla!|01 November 2013

The Indian Women's Association (IWA) of Singapore organised a fashion show titled Indian Affaire on Oct 28.

The event, which was attended by more than 200 guests, saw 14 models strut down the runway in the creations of Indian designers Kavita Bhartia, Kiran Uttam Ghosh, Namrata Joshipura, Rajesh Pratap and Payal Pratap.

Senior Minister of State for Education and Law Indranee Rajah (above, right with IWA president Piu Lahiri) was the guest of honour.

The proceeds from the show will go to the National Heritage Board's Asian Civilisations Museum and the upcoming Indian Heritage Centre. After the event, a trunk sale was organised for the guests.

IWA's chair of Iconic Events Sharmila Arora said: "It was our attempt to produce a show of international standards, and I think the mandate of making the Indian Affaire truly iconic for IWA was accomplished."
