How much can a stone cost?
Up to US$46.2m (S$57.4m), according to Business Insider. That is how much British billionaire Laurence Graff paid for a pink diamond ring at a Sotheby's auction in 2010.
While the ring - which he renamed The Graff Pink, might have fetched a mind blowing amount, some other pieces that are considerably cheaper have a richer history.
One of them being the breathtaking necklace of Italy's final royal, Queen Marie Jose. It was created by Van Cleef and Arpels and has 50 bright green emeralds and too many diamonds to count.
While it doesn't have a value attached to it, the engagement ring that Kate Middleton sports was formerly owned by the Prince William's mother, Princess Diana.
That piece of bling with some history is valued at US$38,488.
The New York Daily News also reported that a 59.6-carat stone known as the Pink Star will go on auction in Geneva on Nov 13. The stone - which is the largest known pink diamond, is expected to fetch US$60m.
