China's wealthiest women

China's 15 wealthiest women were revealed recently in a list released by ultra high-net-worth business development solution provider Wealth-X.

The combined wealth of the 15 exceeds US$30 billion (S$37.8 billion).

The 32-year-old chairman of property group Country Garden, Huiyan Yang, topped the list with a total net worth of US$6.3 billion.

Only 3 women in the list derived their fortunes from inheritance - 11 are entrepreneurs and one of them is an executive at a conglomerate.

"Female entrepreneurs in China have played an integral role in the country's growth story," Mykolas Rambus, Wealth-X CEO said.

"In the cut-throat world of business, these women have outperformed many of their male counterparts to join the ranks of China's wealthiest individuals."

Real estate wealth dominates the list, as total wealth attributed to the sector comprises over 60 per cent of the combined work of the wealthiest women in China.
