Singapore - A wedding was held at the S.E.A Aquarium in Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) last Saturday evening, reportedly for a price tag of about $2 million.
Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao reported that Malaysian real estate developer Dato Tan Eng Boon had booked the viewing gallery of the Singapore oceanarium for his son, 32-year-old Edwin Tan's wedding.
The extravagant event - hosted by MediaCorp artiste Bryan Wong - was attended by over 200 guests, who were apparently told not to prepare any red packets.
One of the guests told Wanbao that the $2 million cost had included a $1.2 million Lamborghini that the elder Tan had purchased as a wedding gift for the couple.
The couple had dated for two years before getting engaged earlier this month in Johor Bahru, where Edwin Tan and his 22-year-old wife reside, according to Wanbao.
It was also reported that 15 hotel rooms in Sentosa were also booked for the couple's friends and family.
S.E.A Aquarium had launched wedding packages earlier this year and the Tans were reportedly the first ones to tie the knot there.
The couple had chosen Sentosa as a wedding venue as it was where Tan first met his wife during an annual dinner in 2011.
They had originally planned to hold the wedding at the Shangri-La Hotel, but later found out about S.E.A Aquarium's wedding packages and thought it would be really special, reported Wanbao.
