Glitz and gold at Johnnie Walker's F1 party

Singapore - It was an island of gold in a sea of people. A giant, golden chandelier glittering above a towering mountain lined with rows of gleaming golden bottles filled with the golden liquid that is the Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve.

An oasis of liquid gold in the middle of a party zone, the giant golden bar was the star of the recent Johnnie Walker Circuit Lounge Singapore party at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, which saw more than 1,500 guests (including celebrities like Anita Kapoor, Daniel Boey, Sheila Sim, Oli Pettigrew, Paul Foster and Rosalyn Lee) partying the night away to great music and great drink.

Held in conjunction with the 2013 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix, the party was the icing on the cake during what was a weekend of glitz, glamour and loud engines for Yuaraja Krisnasamy, the grand prize winner of Johnnie Walker Malaysia's Step Inside The Circuit campaign.

Yuaraja won a VIP all-expense-paid weekend in Singapore that included Sky Suite passes to the F1 race and a premier walk-about in the pits, Yuaraja also got to meet with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver, Jenson Button at an exclusive meet and greet session.

Sebastian Vettel may have won the actual race, but the Singapore GP was so much more than just a bunch of cars whizzing around the track. It was a veritable festival of sights, sounds, music and fanfare, and even if you were not a hardcore fan of F1, there was still so much for you to do. The organisers made every effort to make sure there was something for everyone, including setting up numerous stages all around the race grounds featuring artistes ranging from local Singaporean acts to international stars like The Killers and Rihanna.

Similarly, the Johnnie Walker Circuit Lounge Singapore party was also more than just a party. It was a celebration for the senses, with stunning aerialists, violinists, and DJs coming together to create an incredible visual and audio experience for guests.

There was a fashion show by designer Daniel Ngoo, who showcased fashion creations inspired by Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, as well as a scintillating performance by the aptly named - and Grammy award-winning - Mad Violinist. On the decks for the evening and tasked with keeping the crowd dancing and the party mood going were US-based DJs Mel DeBarge and duo Posso.

One of the highlights of the party was the ever-popular Johnnie Walker Flavour Lab. If you were patient enough to brave the crazy long queue in front of the bar, you would have been rewarded with a choice of three experimental cocktails crafted and served by Diageo Reserve World Class alumni bartenders Jeremy Chua (Singapore), Kae Yin (Taiwan) and Zachary de Git (Singapore).
