Hong Kong - Hollywood star Brad Pitt spent some US$250,000 (S$313,000) on luxurious diamonds and a watch for his fiancee Angelina Jolie during a private vacation in Hong Kong late September, reported entertainment site Hollywood Scope.
US magazine People reported that Hollywood's highest earning couple, who raked in US$50 million (S$63 million) in 2013, was seen in Hong Kong's luxury jewellery and timepiece boutique Emperor Watch & Jewellery Limited.
Kristy Yue, an assistant PR manager with the jewellery retailer, told People magazine that Pitt, 49, bought a Parmigiani Watch and other diamond jewellery for 38-year-old Jolie during their visit.
In a Facebook posting on Sept 26, Emperor Watch & Jewellery said that Brad Pitt also purchased an 18-carat rose gold diamond pendant called 'The Sunray'.
A spokesperson also told E! Online that the couple did not buy any wedding rings. The entertainment site speculated in an earlier article that the pair might have secretly gotten married after Jolie was spotted wearing a ring on her left hand in March.
The couple's visit to the high-end jewellery boutique was captured on CCTV and images can be found circulating on the Internet. In the CCTV images, Jolie looked visibly run down.
The power couple were on a private family vacation when they visited Hong Kong with their twins Vivienne and Knox for a short trip, according to online reports.
A Chinese news site CRI.CN reported that the couple was friendly and waved to paparazzi when they were spotted having lunch in the Central area.

It is unclear what was the occasion for the luxurious purchases. The gifts could be an expression of love and form of encourage from her fiance Brad Pitt.
In a message that supposedly written by Brad Pitt that has been circulating online as early as July this year, the actor talked about how he had to step up his role as a husband and help Jolie recover from her illness.
Known as the 'My girl got sick' quote, the post described how he put her in the centre of his life, and showered her with gifts, flowers, kisses and compliments every day. His actions and words made her 'blossomed', he wrote.
Earlier this year in May, Jolie made headlines when she revealed she had gone under the knife in February for a preventive double mastectomy.
In an earlier article penned by Jolie in the New York Times titled 'My medical choice', she said she carried the 'faulty' gene BRCA1 which 'sharply increases' her risk of developing breast and ovarian cancers.
Her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, died from ovarian cancer in 2007 when she was 56 years old, reported E! Online. In her article, Jolie, who has six children, said she had to be 'proactive and minimise' the risk she had. She did not want her children to lose their mother to breast cancer.
After their visit to the Asian city, Jolie was seen with her children in Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia on September 29, said E! Online. The 38-year-old actress and director is currently working in Australia on her new project.
She is directing a film called 'Unbroken', which tells the story of an airplane officer who survived on a raft for 47 days after a plane crash, said Daily Mail.
The pair have been seen in various parts of the world this year. In July, they flew to Tokyo with their children, Knox, Vivienne and Pax to celebrate the premiere of Pitt's movie 'World War Z'.
