Singapore Airshow 2010 had its opening and welcome ceremony for its delegates at Suntec City Convention Centre.
Asia’s largest and the top three aerospace and defence exhibitions in the world was officially opened by Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Mr Teo Chee Hean.
Mr Tan Pheng Hock, Chairman, Singapore Airshow & Events, said in his welcome address, “As the long term outlook for the global air travel market looks set to improve, we are confident that Singapore Airshow, being an iconic and strategic event will be able to leverage on this opportunity to open doors to vast opportunities available in the region.”
The 2,000 invited guests, including many ministers, high-level military and government officials and industry leaders, were treated to a spectacular display of the traditional Asian Dragon and Lion Dance, complemented with rhythmic Chinese drums.
Guests then moved into a hall for dinner that included a buffet spread from various delicacies in the world.
The night ended with a performance by Donnie Ray and Rafford & Band.
