Premiere ball with philanthropic touch
by Plush|10 May 2012

A premiere event with a philanthropic touch is what the Passion Ball is when it happens this Friday, May 11, 2012 at the the Grand Ballroom of Capella Singapore.

This grand and stylish charity gala dinner event, organised by Olga Iserlis and now chaired by Ronald P. Stride, is in support of Food From The Heart (FFTH), a non-profit charity that distributes unsold bread and food to the needy in Singapore.

All proceeds from the ball will go towards funding programmes run by FFTH (www.foodheart.org).

Now in its eighty year, the theme for this year's Passion Ball is The Supper Club where guests can return to the golden age of supper clubs when elegant dining was in vogue.

This black tie event will be complemented by a gourmet supper spread created by Capella Singapore, served along with Laurent Perrier champagne, Cointreau and Skyy Vodka cocktails.

The evening's programme will be hosted by Anita Kapoor, and will feature a stellar line-up comprising a pantomime by highly acclaimed award-winning illusionist Inga Savitskaya, who is also an actress as well as a tango dancer, and a fashion show by London-based designer Corrie Nielsen featuring shoes by London-based footwear brand FURY.

Passion Ball 2012 will mark the inaugural show for Inga in Singapore, as well as for Corrie who will showcase her Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Corrie had a six-year stint at Vivienne Westwood before launching her own label.

It will also mark the debut of FURY footwear, the London-based brand helmed by a Swedish designer.

The event will also boast an auction featuring a dress donated by Corrie Nielsen and an exclusive timepiece by Audemars Piguet.

Tickets for the event are priced at $600 and $1,000 per seat, which includes a cocktail reception and sit-down dinner.

All proceeds will go to FFTH.

Every month, FFTH touches the lives of over 11,000 individuals in over 160 welfare homes, self-collection centres and schools.

All donations to FFTH receive a 2.5 tax deduction.
